Light for a Remote School in Sierra Madre

Sharing the gift of light. Last weekend, Project Malasakit gave solar power systems to the families of Sitio Malining and Sitio Lucban in Gen. Nakar, Quezon. Situated in the heart of the Sierra Madre mountain range, these two sitios are perhaps the most remote communities in Gen. Nakar. Thus, access to basic services is very difficult. The community was featured in the Iwitness documentary “Mga Guro ng Malining”.

Thank you to our donors Dr. CP David, Evelyn Peek, Vicki Perlas Habon, Project Malasakit Canada, Marie Molina and Elmer Bauyon for contributing to this worthy project.

Thank you also to the MWSS, IPM Construction, Manila Water & Maynilad Umiray Transbasin Project for helping us transport the goods to the foot of the mountain. Of course, thank you to Marjorie Oriel and LM Cancio for joining me in this journey. Salamat po Panginoon!
