In 2017, Jessa graduated from college with a Bachelor of Science in Hotel & Restaurant Management.

October 15, 2013, a magnitude 7.2 earthquake hit the province of Bohol. The earthquake left more than 200 people dead. Jessa Sendrijas’ family lives in a mountainous area in Sagbayan, Bohol (the epicenter of the earthquake). Her two younger sisters died in a landslide caused by the earthquake. Her family’s farm and livelihood were badly affected. Jessa was forced to work to be able to help augment her family’s income. Despite their poverty, Jessa was determined to finish her education. She worked as domestic helper to be able to support her college education. In 2013, Project Malasakit enrolled Jessa in our scholarship program.
